Take 4: Day 8!

Welcome back to Simba Sitting Shenanigans! We hope everyone enjoyed their Sunday!

Before I recap our latest Simba Sitting Shenanigans, I owe a sincere apology to the best director in the world. I regretfully neglected to give Lisa credit for helping me talk Jason off a ledge when he thought something was wrong with Simba because he was resting while I was cooking. Lisa has been indispensable with helping keep Jason calm and making sure he enjoys his vacation. She has made it clear to Jason that Simba is safe with me. I am forever grateful for all of her help and deeply apologize for forgetting to include her in yesterday’s blog.

Okay, now that we got that out of the way…

Last night, Simba and I went for a walk with Ashley before we headed out for the night. It was a very quick walk because we had just recently taken a walk. Then Simba came home to relax while I went to go win 7 prizes at my shul’s casino night fundraiser. Don’t worry – I brought the prizes back to my house so Simba couldn’t destroy them!

When I returned, it was very late and Simba and I were both tired. We went for another walk and then headed straight to bed. We both slept very soundly. I am pretty sure Simba fell asleep before I did!

This morning, we both wanted to relax in bed a little longer but unfortunately I had to go to work. We had our normal morning routine and enjoyed a nice walk outside. I did not check the weather before heading outside, so I was unaware that it was raining. That being said, Simba did not have his raincoat on. Thankfully, it was only drizzling, and Simba did not get too wet. Then I went to work and Simba enjoyed a relaxing day inside.

Simba was ecstatic to see me when I returned. We cuddled on the couch and watched some tv. Simba started barking at the tv, so I said “excuse me sir, this is not how we behave.” Simba stopped barking and I was very excited that it worked. Unfortunately, it was a false alarm and Simba started barking again. Thankfully, after a few more verbal reminders, Simba stopped barking and we went back to enjoying the tv show.

I went to take Simba for a walk, but he wanted to play “chase me around the apartment” instead. I wasn’t really in the mood to play that game tonight (or really ever) so I took the “I’ll wait” approach. I sat down on the couch with Simba’s harness, leash and raincoat. I waiting until Simba was ready to come to me. After just a few short minutes, Simba decided he was ready to go for his walk.

This time we were prepared for the rain, and once again Simba looked adorable in his raincoat. Simba enjoyed his walk in the rain and thankfully stayed pretty dry. We came back in the building and I went to go see if Jason had any mail. Simba does not like going to the mailboxes because it is right by the stairs. For some strange reason, Simba is scared to walk up the stairs in this building. He has no problem walking down (I personally think that is much scarier) and has no problem walking up the stairs outside. I will never understand why he is like this, but I have just come to accept it.

When I was getting the mail, Simba anchored himself to the floor so that I would not bring him to the staircase. It was fairly inconvenient, however extremely adorable. I was able to retrieve the mail and we returned back to the apartment.

Simba is now sitting at my feet and patiently awaiting me to finish writing the blog, so I can feed him dinner.
