Welcome back to Simba Sitting Shenanigans: Shabbos Edition! Simba and I hope you had a good Shabbos! We sure did!
Yesterday afternoon, Simba enjoyed watching me frantically get ready for Shabbos. I was running around like a chicken without a head trying to get everything done in time. Simba enjoyed watching me from the couch. Have no fear, I was able to finish everything on time!
I took Simba for a walk which he thoroughly enjoyed. We spent some time cuddling and then I was off to dinner. Thankfully I had a very short walk to dinner because it was right down the hall. After dinner, I took Simba to go say hello to Rena’s mommy. At first he was scared because she had her hood on and he couldn’t see her face. Then when she took off her hood, he was very happy to see his friend!
Then we went for a walk. I forgot it was raining outside so Simba got a little bit wet. I made sure to not stay outside for very long. First, because I really didn’t want to be sleeping with a wet dog and second, because I was tired and wanted to go to sleep.
We returned to the apartment and I read a couple chapters in my book while Simba relaxed on my lap. Then we went to bed early. Apparently, it was too early because Simba woke me up at 3 am. He kept me awake until after 4 am. Then he finally let me go to sleep and woke me again at 7 am. I explained to Simba that just because his daddy doesn’t sleep, doesn’t mean everyone wants to be up all night.
Finally at 7:40, I decided Simba was not going to give up and we went into the living room. I tried falling asleep on the couch but unfortunately I was up for the day. I gave Simba breakfast and then got dressed. We went for a walk outside and it was not too cold out. I decided to let Simba off his leash at the handball court. Simba ran outside of the handball court, so I offered him a treat and put him back on the leash.
After our walk, I cleaned up the apartment because we were having guests for Shabbos. Every time I put one of Simba’s toys away, he took out another. He really enjoyed that “game.” When I was folding the blankets, Simba tried to unfold them. He thought it was fun to try and play tug of war. I told Simba that just because his daddy gives in and lets him play with whatever he wants, I do not give in so easily. I had a very stern talk and made sure Simba was making eye contact with me. (Don’t worry Jason, I did not yell at Simba, just used my serious voice). Eventually, Simba realized I was not playing and let me fold the blankets.

Simba got to meet my friend Ashley today. He was so excited, he forgot all his manners! He tried jumping up and biting her sweater. We had to have another conversation about behavior. Thankfully, he calmed down and enjoyed Ashley petting him. Simba was better behaved when Seeyon, Avraham and Chana came over. He was really happy to have so much company!
When we sat down for our Shabbos meal, I decided to give Simba a Shabbos treat. There was leftover birthday cake in the freezer from Simba’s birthday. He really enjoyed it!
Right before Shabbos ended, we went for another walk and Simba was very well behaved. We relaxed on the couch and then I gave Simba some dinner.

After Shabbos, Seeyon came over to get some stuff. Simba stole his bag and began playing with it. It was adorable. Eventually, we were able to trick Simba into playing with a different toy so Seeyon could have his bag back.
When I started writing the blog from the couch, Simba drank some water, got his toy all wet and placed it on my laptop. I decided it was a better idea to write the blog from the kitchen table instead.
Tune in tomorrow for more Simba Sitting Shenanigans!
