Welcome Back to Simba Sitting Shenanigans! I do not have any public apologies to make today (well, at least I don’t think I do) so we can get right into the shenanigans!
Last night, I decided to try something new with Simba’s dinner. He always takes an allergy and immune system vitamin with his dinner. Normally, Jason has me crumble it into his food so that he will eat it. I placed it in his dinner whole and Simba ate his entire dinner including the vitamin! Jason, now there is one less step you have to do when preparing his dinner.
After dinner, I needed to fold some laundry. I know Simba loves to steal socks, so I brought my clothes into the bedroom and left Simba in the living room. He enjoyed listening to his relaxation music and I was able to fold my clothes in peace. Speaking of Simba’s love of socks, did you know today is National Sock Day? Maybe I will give Simba a pair of Jason’s socks to play with! No, I will not be giving him my socks.
Simba and I were cuddling on the couch but Simba kept running over to the balcony door. I opened the door for him and he enjoyed some fresh air. At one point, I could not see him from where I was. I called his name and he ran right back to me and jumped onto my lap. He is such a good listener (when he wants to be).

I got a little cold so I took a blanket from the pile. Simba wanted to be included as well, so he also took a blanket from the pile. Actually, he took the other 3 blankets from the pile. I think he thought we were just throwing blankets all over the couch and not just using them for warmth.

Simba and I were relaxing on the couch and I think he fell asleep on my lap. I texted a group chat that both Jason and I are in to let them know he fell asleep on me and how cute it was. Jason then got concerned because he fell asleep and was worried something was wrong. I didn’t see this text until this morning but I informed him that Simba is great. Alyse pointed out that she was proud of Jason for not following up 10 times when I did not answer immediately. We were all very proud of Jason for acknowledging that if something was wrong, I would have called him.
When going for our walk before bed, Simba once again did not want to put his leash on. We went into the elevator and then Simba allowed me to put on his leash. I checked the weather before we left and I knew it was ok to not bring the raincoat. We enjoyed a nice walk and then headed to bed.
This morning, I was tired and wanted to sleep a little more but Simba wanted to play. We compromised and I pet him a little and then went back to sleep. Then he woke me up again and we would start the cycle over again.
We had our typical morning routine and then headed to the boardwalk for our morning walk. The weather was actually pretty nice out so we both enjoyed that! When we were on the boardwalk there was another dog heading our way. I told Simba it was time to turn around. I did not realize the dog was off leash and ran up to Simba and me. Right before he reached us, I picked up Simba and continued walking. Simba is currently not allowed to play with other dogs due to the mystery illness and I didn’t want him to get upset when I told him no.
We came back to the apartment so Simba could relax while I went to work. Simba got a mid afternoon treat when I came to say hello while I picked up my lunch. He was very happy to see me! It was a quick visit because I had a lot of work to do and needed to get back.
When I returned back from work today Jason called Simba on FaceTime. Simba was a little confused at first and started looking for Jason by the door. Then he realized he was on the phone and started licking my phone. It was very cute. After a little while, Simba began to lose interest in the phone call but Jason enjoyed watching Simba play!

Tune in tomorrow for more Simba Sitting Shenanigans!
