Welcome back to Simba Sitting Shenanigans. Last night Simba took a while to fall asleep. I think he missed me yesterday and decided that bedtime was a perfect time to play. I was not in agreement with this because I was exhausted. Finally, after an hour of Simba trying to chew the zipper off the duvet cover, he decided to go to sleep. Once again, I did not use the noise machine and Simba seemed to sleep just fine.
This morning, Simba did not want to let me get out of bed. I wish we were able to have a lazy day but that was not in the cards for today. Simba ate his breakfast. Then, we went for a nice walk and enjoyed the fresh air. After our walk, I brought Simba back home to relax while I went to work.
Today when I was at work, I got a WhatsApp message from Simba asking for permission to lick my face. Unfortunately, permission was denied because I really just do not like being licked on my face. I have seen what Simba licks and … yeah no … his tongue is not going near my face. Ok, yes I am aware Simba doesn’t actually have thumbs or the ability to to operate a cell phone. Jason created a WhatsApp account and pretends to be Simba sometimes. (As every normal pet parent does…) Sometimes Jason even has conversations with himself pretending to have a conversation with Simba. Maybe one day he will realize he isn’t actually texting with Simba. (But knowing Jason, he probably won’t.)
When I came home, Simba got a big surprise. His Uncle Daniel came to visit! Simba was so excited, he did not know what to do with himself. He was running around in circles and jumping up and down. It was such a nice surprise for Simba. I sent Daniel a funny video of Jason and Simba got very excited to hear Jason’s voice and see him on Daniel’s phone. Simba went over to Daniel’s phone and started licking the video of Jason.

Jason decided to FaceTime with Simba. Unlike last year when Jason was afraid to speak or let Simba see him because he was worried Simba would miss him too much. This time, Jason actually spoke to Simba and let me show Simba his picture. Simba was very excited to see Jason but after a minute he became unfazed by Jason being on the phone and started playing with his toys and add to the mess he made while I was out.
Before Daniel left, he helped me get the green ball out from under the couch. Simba was ecstatic because this was day 3 of “Operation: Save the Green Ball.” Simba thanked Daniel and promised to not let the ball go back under the couch.
After Daniel left, we went for a walk and it started to snow. Simba did not even notice the snow because he was too busy trying to chase a plastic bag that was blowing in the wind. When we returned home, Simba decided he would eat his dinner that he was too excited to eat while Daniel was over.
Now, Simba is alternating between trying to bite my toes and trying to chew on the legs of Jason’s table. Don’t worry, I was able to stop him from doing both.
Tune in tomorrow for more Simba Sitting Shenanigans – Take 2!
