Take 2: Day 3!

Simba Sitting Shenanigans: Take 2 – Day 3- Shabbos edition!

Welcome back! Shavuah Tov!  Last night, Simba was very tired after his party with his friends.  He ate about half his dinner and then we went for a walk. I went out for shabbos dinner and got back very late so we did not go out for another walk before bed.  Simba did not want to finish his dinner, so we just got ready for bed.

About an hour after we went to bed, Simba started barking again.  I tried getting him to calm down but after an hour or so of on and off barking I opened the bedroom door and decided to let Simba roam around as he pleased.  Thankfully, the light from the living room was not too bright so I was still able to fall asleep.

This morning, I woke up to a few surprises in the bed.  Simba decided to bring me some presents while I was sleeping. I found his empty breakfast bowl, a stuffed animal, a cheese chew and one of Jason’s socks that Simba stole. Jason – if you are looking for a black sock, I found it. Simba also decided to finish his dinner sometime in the middle of the night.

This morning, Simba ate his entire breakfast out of the bowl again. Simba and I went for a short walk but did not play fetch this morning. It was still freezing outside! I do not know what is going on with Simba, but he is very into scaring people with his “big dog” bark. There was a little boy walking to shul with his mom and he was so scared of Simba barking and running up to him.  I explained to the boy and his mother that he was happily wagging his tail which meant he just wanted to play. I also explained to Simba it is not nice to bark at people like that, but I don’t think he seemed to understand because he did the same thing to someone else later in the day.

We took another short walk before I went for Shabbos lunch.  Simba got a treat and got to come with me to the neighbor’s apartment for a little while. Simba enjoyed all the attention and petting he was getting. They were so impressed with how calm simba was!  When it was time to eat, I brought Simba back to the apartment so he could relax.

After lunch, Simba got a visit from Seeyon. Simba was so excited to see him. Thankfully Simba got over his short phase of being scared of Seeyon.  Simba enjoyed spending time with Seeyon, and was very well behaved while we played Settlers of Catan.  We were talking about how Simba has really calmed down lately.  Seeyon asked when Simba was neutered, and I couldn’t remember the exact date, so I referred to the handy dandy notebook and found out he was neutered on 11/10/22.  Jason – you should be very happy someone appreciated your care guide.  Seeyon even read some of it.  I informed him that you will be quizzing him on it later.

After our game, Simba and I walked Seeyon outside.  Simba was always scared of the stairs so Seeyon decided to try and see if Simba would like to try and walk the stairs.  Simba did so well walking downstairs. I was so proud of him!

When we returned from our walk,  I gave Simba his dinner.  Unfortunately, I am sad to report, Simba dumped his dinner all over the carpet.  Thankfully, he ate all of his dinner, including the dinner that spilled on the carpet.  Simba and I spent some time on the couch and I am pretty sure Simba fell asleep on my lap while I was reading my book.

When Shabbos was over we went for another short walk outside, and then we came back inside to watch tv.  Simba was very well behaved while I was cooking and eating dinner.  He did not jump up on the table at all.  Now Simba is alternating between barking at the people on tv and his ball that he lost under the couch.  I tried getting it with the broom and even lifted up the couch so he could get the ball.  Unfortunately, that mission was unsuccessful.  We will try again later.
