Welcome back to Simba Sitting Shenanigans: Take 2- Day 2!
Last night after posting the blog, Simba decided to play the game “Let’s Bite Heather’s Toes.” I am not a big fan of this game. Or, as a matter of fact any game that involves biting. Now we know that Jason…well didnt exactly train him out of this behavior…so I said, “Simba stop it. I am not Daddy, I will not allow you to bite me!” Thankfully Simba decided to listen.
Simba played with some toys and then we went for a very short walk. Once again it was freezing and we did not want to spend a lot of time outside. Simba watched some dog relaxation videos while I took a shower. Then we got ready for bed.
Unlike last time I was Simba sitting, he had no hesitation to go to the bedroom without Jason. He was very excited and went right in. For those of you who are new here, or forgot, last time Simba was confused when it was time for bed. Simba was so excited this time, he didn’t even remember to take a toy with him!
Jason keeps 2 noise machines (well usually 3 but thankfully he took one with him to Disney) and an iPod playing dog relaxation music next to his bed. Jason must be an extremely heavy sleeper because boy was it LOUD! (Or maybe this is why Jason never sleeps…) I only turned on one of the noise machines and thought I was going to go deaf! Maybe I am being a little dramatic, but it was definitely very loud. I think from now on we are going to make the noise machine a little lower.
I think Simba remembered he did not have a toy at 1 am because he woke me up barking. I told him to go back to sleep, and he woke me up again at 3:30. I realized Simba didn’t have a toy so I opened the bedroom door and let him go get one. I decided to leave the door open so Simba could go back and forth as he pleased. Simba was quiet for the rest of the night, only waking me up by walking on top of me when I was sleeping.
Around 6:45 am, Simba decided to start whining for absolutely no reason. Ok, there was a reason, but it was for attention so it shouldn’t count as a reason. Simba was sitting on the floor and was just staring at me. I told him to come up to the bed, and that seemed to do the trick. He stopped whining. I don’t know why he didn’t just jump up onto the bed like he did in the middle of the night when I was sleeping, but oh well.
This morning when we finally got up and decided to start our day, Simba and I had breakfast together. Simba had a delicious bowl of lamb mix-ins and I had a bowl of cereal. I am proud to announce we both ate our breakfast out of the bowl and not dumped all over the floor. However, I used a spoon, Simba just used his mouth.
We went to the handball court and played fetch for a little while. Simba picked up a rock (and was trying to chew it) but listened when I told him to drop it. He also did not give me a hard time when it was time to put his leash back on. I was so proud of him!
I left Simba to go to work, and when I came back it looked like Simba had a wild party. There were toys everywhere! Now he really is having a party. First Simba’s girlfriend Lucy came to the door and ran inside. When Lucy’s mom came to check on her, Simba’s friend Teddy ran inside. Now they are all playing together so hopefully Simba will sleep when I go for dinner tonight.
Tune in tomorrow night for another edition of Simba Sitting Shenanigans: Take 2- Shabbos Edition!
