Welcome back to Simba Sitting Shenanigans! Wow, I can’t believe a whole week passed so far since I started pet sitting for Simba, and created this blog. Thank you to all my loyal followers for continuing on this journey with me.
A little update from dinner last night. Right before I was about to go to bed, Simba decided it was time to finish his dinner. For all those who were worried that the dinner streak was over, you can be assured that Simba saved the streak. We went for a late night walk after Simba ate his dinner, but Simba was tired and wanted to quickly come back inside.
Simba decided to sneak a squeaky toy into bed last night. That was very short lived. I distracted him while I switched it for a beef chew that would not make any noise. The only issue, although it was quiet, it was smelly!
Simba woke up around 4 am (this time it was kinda my fault) and had a hard time falling back to sleep. Usually Simba sleeps on the floor, but he decided to sleep in the bed last night. I didn’t realize he was there and accidentally touched him. He eventually fell back to sleep around 6 am. We got to sleep for a little while before the alarm clock went off.
This morning we went for a very short walk. As soon as Simba finished his breakfast, it started to rain. Simba was curious about the construction going on at the beach, but did not mind going back inside because of the rain.
This evening on our walk we got to see a beautiful sunset. Nothing beats a sunset on the beach! While we were on the boardwalk, We saw Lucy’s mom and brother. They told us to stay where we were because they were going to bring Lucy outside.
Simba and Lucy had such a fun time playing together. At one point, I seriously contemplated changing Simba’s name. I almost changed his name to Rapunzel because he was so tangled. Simba and Lucy were playing so much, it took a few minutes to figure out how to untangle their leashes.
Then we returned back to the apartment and I prepared Simba’s dinner. I added the usual liver treats, however Simba just picked them out and left the kibble. Simba enjoyed watching me make dinner. He became very upset that I would not share my food with him. He kept trying to grab stuff off the table, but I redirected him back down off the table. Jason, don’t worry I will give you tips on how to do this when you get back.
I sat down to watch some tv, and Simba decided his dinner would taste better if he dumped it onto the carpet. I don’t really understand the appeal, but I guess it tastes better that way because he ate his entire dinner.
I opened my laptop to write the blog, and Simba decided I needed a little help tonight. Simba climbed onto my laptop and tried typing. However his toy was in the way, and it was just making a mess. I told Simba he could help another time, but unfortunately he needs to learn how to spell and type first.
Simba and I are now relaxing and watching Big Brother. Simba seems to enjoy the show, but sometimes he barks at the commercials. Simba is also playing with his giant teddy bear. Jason once again FaceTimed Simba while Simba had absolutely no idea Jason was there.
Tune in tomorrow for more Simba Sitting Shenanigans!
