Welcome back to Simba Sitting Shenanigans- Shabbos Edition! Simba had such an eventful Shabbos and I can’t wait for you to hear all about it!
Last night Simba’s friend Rachel came over for Shabbos dinner. Simba had a great time playing tug of war with Rachel, and sticking his head inside her cup. Sorry I do not have any videos of Simba walking around with a cup on his head (Blame Shabbos, not me). Simba also learned the lesson that women do not like it when you bite their ponytails. It’s an adjustment being around people with long hair. Actually, its an adjustment being around people with hair in general!
Once again during dinnertime, Simba was more interested in the food we were eating, and not his own food. I added some of Simba’s yummy lamb mix-ins to the kibble and made sure the nutracal was on the lamb. Rachel had the idea to put Simba’s dinner on a paper plate so he could feel like he was eating off a plate like we were. This morning I had a big mess to clean up when simba decided to dump the plate on the carpet and shred the plate to pieces (thanks Rachel).
Last night we decided to go to sleep early because it was a long week. Simba had a little bit of a hard time staying asleep, but he was easily redirected back to sleep. We were even able to sleep until 7:45!
This morning, Simba and I went for a nice long walk. We enjoyed the beautiful weather! Simba ate all of his lamb breakfast. I even threw in some of his favorite liver treats as a Shabbos treat! He really enjoyed that.
Simba was a little confused by the Shabbos elevator, but after the 3rd time, he remembered it stops on every floor. Simba also kept walking over to Dayhab. He was hoping some of his friends would be there, and that they would come outside to play with him!
Simba and I then enjoyed some time relaxing in the apartment. Simba played with some toys and took a nap while I read my book. Then I left Simba for a couple of hours to have Shabbos lunch with one of Jason’s neighbors.
When I returned from lunch, I got a nice greeting from Simba. He was so happy to see me. Then Simba had a big surprise. Shifra came over to meet Simba! Simba could hardly contain his excitement. I had to pick him up so that he would stop jumping. Simba later calmed down, and had a great time sitting on Shifra’s lap.
Later in the day, Shifra and I took Simba out for another walk. Simba made so many friends on his walk. First he saw some friends from his building who recognized him from across the street. Then we met a large family with 10 kids! They all loved playing with Simba, and took turns petting him. Simba showed off his newest trick “paw.” They were all very impressed.
On our way back to the building, Simba saw his friend Einstein. He had a great time playing with him, and walking back home together. Once back at the apartment, Simba said goodbye to Shifra, and proceeded to eat all the treats I snuck into his dinner, leaving the actual dinner still in the bowl. Hey, at least I tried!
Now Simba and I are relaxing on the balcony, enjoying the fresh air and ocean view.
Tune in tomorrow for more Simba Sitting Shenanigans!
