Welcome back to our final episode of Simba Sitting Shenanigans Take 7! This week has really gone by quickly. Simba and I have had our ups and downs but overall I would say it has been a success!
Last night, Simba was possessed by I have no idea what. He just wouldn’t stop barking and having the zoomies! I took him for a walk outside but it was late and there were scary people outside so we did not stay out too long. Simba did his business, we walked around the building and then came back inside.
We watched a bit of the Cowboys-Eagles game. Go Cowboys! (Or literally any other team than Philadelphia. Rule of thumb – always root against any Philadelphia team!) Simba, however, demanded we go to sleep. So off to bed we went.
I opened up the bedroom door and finished getting the apartment ready for us to go to sleep. Simba slept pretty well, only waking up once because he couldn’t find his toy, and of course for his 4 am bark (I still can’t figure this one out). Jason, please keep me updated if he does this to you as well. Simba woke me up to give him his medicine and then we got back into bed for a little while because I was exhausted. I did not want to say anything about Simba not licking my face because I was afraid to jinx anything. Well, I didn’t even have to say something. My thoughts alone jinxed it. Simba licked my face this morning even though he knows I hate it! Thankfully, he listened when I told him not to do it again. He can save that for his reunion with Jason tonight!
We got up and did our usual routine, blah blah blah, half the breakfast, went for a walk. You know the drill. Our morning walk was pretty uneventful. A man on the boardwalk wanted to say hello to Simba but Simba was a little shy.
Oh! I almost forgot! Simba walked over to the skate park and wanted to go skate boarding but realized he left his skate board at home. Well, Simba doesn’t actually have a skateboard but his neighbors leave enough scooters in the hallway, I am sure they wouldn’t even notice if he borrowed one. I gave Simba the rest of his breakfast and headed out to work.
I stopped by the apartment in the afternoon to check out of my AirBNB, I mean get my stuff from Jason’s apartment. I also wanted to make sure that Simba’s toys did not look like a tornado ripped through the apartment. Simba, I really hope you did not already make a mess! Simba was not so cooperative so he needed to go on a little field trip to the bedroom while I cleaned up.
I took Simba to Dayhab so he could see some of his friends. He was so excited! One of Simba’s friends from Dayhab even helped take Simba for a walk. Simba was having such a nice time, he did not want to go back home. It is possible he knew I was leaving after this walk and wanted to make our time together as long as possible. We are going to go with this hypothesis!
When we returned to the building, someone was getting a very large furniture delivery and they were doing some scary construction in the lobby. I picked Simba up and carried him to the elevator so he would not get hurt. I said goodbye to Simba and returned my keys.
I do want to make a special shout out to Jason. He has really come a long way. He only asked me about Simba’s poop twice this entire stay! For reference, I used to have to update Jason every walk about if Simba pooped and the consistency. Jason, I am very proud of how laid back you have become!
I had choir again tonight, so Rachel gave Simba his final walk of Jason’s vacation. Rachel, off to you:
Actual Epilogue
As you all know, my first guest spot this time around was really a prologue and now I have the honor of writing the epilogue. Somehow it worked out that I got Simba’s first and last shenanigan walks.
You know I appreciate how Jason takes care of Culper when I’m away because I had to drop in on Culp to give him dinner before coming to spend some extra time with Simba; it really bothers Culper when I come and go so quickly. Luckily for me, Culper is much easier to deal with than Simba!
I tried to put it into the universe that Simba would poop on our walk, if only because Jason is coming back late, but Simba being Simba…at least he peed a couple of times.
We saw another beautiful sunset and then Simba promptly dragged me back inside. I think he’s scared of all the construction that’s been happening here because he wanted me to carry him. And of course I did this because he gives good hugs and I can’t do that with Culper.
Simba and I played for a while. At first he was searching for the right toy and rejected the toy I got him in Alaska. Then we discovered the toy from Alaska still has squeak left so he REALLY wanted it. I think he got out some anger issues. As I’m typing this from Jason’s couch, Simba is licking his private areas. I don’t think Sarah cut enough of his hair around Simba’s eyes because well, he has no eyes! Which I think is adorable.
This wasn’t a very exciting guest spot but I got good pictures and video so it all works out for your entertainment either way!
This photo has no zoom; would you believe I kissed his nose while he’s doing this? Bro doesn’t scare me!
As I’m sure Heather said (I don’t get previews when I guest), that’s all for this round of Simba Sitting Shenanigans! I walk Simba randomly throughout the year, but we don’t blog posts for the one-offs. I know Jason is off to Israel in just a few months, so I suspect I’ll be back in no time!
Um Rachel. You did not get Simba that you! I got it for him when I was in Alaska! I gave it to Simba last week!
Well, I guess my time here has come to an end but don’t be too sad! In true Jason fashion he already has his next trip booked! (Once again is NOT going to Disney!)
Set your calendars! Simba Sitting Shenanigans Take 9 will debut in 124 days!
