Take 6: Day 6!

Welcome back everyone!

Last night, Simba and I relaxed for a while in the living room. Simba started barking at noises in the hallway so we made our way into the bedroom. I was on the phone and we relaxed for a while.

We went for our evening walk, and Simba decided to be nasty and started barking at people sitting in their cars outside of the building. Simba really wants strangers to think he is fierce even though he is really just a fluff ball who wouldn’t even hurt a fly. Seriously I asked him to kill a lantern fly and he just stared at me.

We returned inside and Simba headed straight to bed. I was still on the phone and not ready for bed. Simba gave me a look and then fell asleep. Simba was out cold for a while before I was ready for bed. He had a very busy day and was exhausted.

This morning was a typical morning. When we woke up, Simba was ready to get out of bed before I was. He watched tv and ate his breakfast while I took my shower. We enjoyed a nice walk on the boardwalk and then Simba headed inside to nap while I was off to work.

When I returned from work, Simba and I enjoyed another nice walk on the boardwalk. We had a very special surprise! Some of Simba’s DayHab friends were on the boardwalk. Simba was so excited to see his friends on a Sunday!

At one point Simba looked as though he wanted to lick my face. I reminded him of my no licking rule so he turned his head and started licking his friend’s face. They both seemed very happy, and I was happy that I was not the one with slobber all over my face.

We returned back inside and once again, Simba got ready for yet another nap!

We have a special guest star blogger today! Tonight I went to the Mets game so Rachel walked and fed Simba! Rachel, take it away…

Rachel’s version

Simba’s favorite back-up is back in action. Half recovered from covid, I have barely walked my own dog this week but Heather was out at the Mets game and I kinda like Simba (Jason not so much) so I fed culper and went to Simba!

Simba was so happy to see me. I was greeted with hugs and kisses 🥰 and then we went for a walk before dinner. Jason likes to remind me this is the order of events forgetting that I’m the one who told him it’s better for their digestion. Silly Jason. He didn’t remind me about anything this time – which I’m really proud of him for. Simba let me put on his harness easily and off we went! Lately, he’s been pulling on the leash a lot more and I’m not a fan of it. It’s usually at this time I like to remind Jason that for all of Culper’s nonsense, he walks on the leash very well. Historically, Simba doesn’t like to poop when I walk him. Last week he did and it was a big deal! We went out for a while, he took his time to pee, we walked some more, and then he pulled me to the door. I took the message and we went back inside.

Jason gives me a lot of grief about my apartment building but his has so much garbage everywhere – it’s so gross! I managed to stop Simba from eating something off the ground and from sniffing bird poo. So nasty.

Simba smiled at me and yawned in the elevator and we talked about how he must have worked so hard today!

Simba waited patiently for me to put the key back in the lock box and also waited so nicely for his food. I saw his water bowl was only half full and murky. I told Simba that his dad would not be happy with that so I rinsed it out and gave him fresh water full to the brim and Simba drank. I made a little bit of a mess putting his food sprinkles in the kong but then I got wise and did that over his food bowl. Simba ate the extra pieces in his bowl way faster than he should have and then got to work immediately on the rest of his food.

He otherwise ignored me and while I’d like to stay to play, I’m parked illegally and gotta go! Simba stared at me with his sad face which always makes me feel bad. I apologized and blew him a kiss.

When I got in the car – “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” was playing, I guess I was meant to hang with Simba today. Yay for no tickets!

P.S. Culper’s version – my human went out and came back smelling like another dog. I interrogated her with sniffs and needed to follow her around. She assured me it was my friend Simba and that she loves me more, so I let it go.

Okay, now back to Heather…

Thanks Rachel (and Culper)!

Tune in tomorrow for more Simba Sitting Shenanigans!
