Welcome back and Happy Nexgard Day! (Don’t worry, I will explain that later.)
Oh boy, do I have a big mouth. I mentioned Jason’s lack of a body check form in the blog yesterday. Big mistake. All that did was give him the idea to create a body check form and a bowel movement chart. Jason sent it to me a couple times and also asked me about it but I am just going to pretend I didn’t see them. I will just say it got lost in all of my other messages. (Shh don’t tell Jason…)
Last night, Simba enjoyed a delicious lamb dinner prepared with all of his favorite supplements. He did not seem to mind that his treats were missing from his dinner. I served the dinner half in his bowl and half in his kong toy. Simba really seemed to enjoy it! For those of you who read the previous posts, you may recall I used to have to wait a long time for Simba to finish his dinner. (Remember when Jason had to feed him by putting food on his head? Well, he didn’t have to. He’s just…..well Jason…) I often had to beg simba to finish eating so we could go to bed. I am very happy to report that things have drastically changed. Simba mostly finished his dinner before I even sat down to eat mine! He didn’t even bark at me! (He did try to jump onto the table but I put an end to that.) I wanted to relax and watch tv but Simba wanted to play tug-of-war with his blue ball. I personally don’t like to play tug with a ball because I get nervous he will accidentally bite me.
I had to go out for a little while so I took Simba for a quick walk before I left. Simba chose this time to play a game instead of letting me put on his leash. He kept running away and pretending to bite me. I decided to put his leash on in the elevator instead because sometimes he calms down and lets me put the leash on once the door closes. While we were waiting for the elevator, Simba got the zoomies in the hallway. He was running back and forth in the hallway at lightning speed. When the elevator finally opened, I successfully put on his leash and was able to take him for a walk. Simba enjoyed his walk and then took a nap while he waited for me to come back.
We took one last walk before going to bed. Simba must have been very tired because he slept the entire night! I did not even have to give him a calming chew! I also didn’t put on Jason’s pesky noise machine. I do not like sleeping with a noise machine. Simba did really well, maybe Jason should try sleeping without the noise machine too, maybe he will sleep better. Or maybe not. Who knows?
This morning, I was woken up at 6 am by someone texting my work phone and I accidentally touched Simba while reaching for my phone. Since Simba was now awake, he wanted me to get out of bed. I told him that his daddy doesn’t get out of bed this early and he should let me go back to sleep for a little while. He was not too fond of that plan but I did get to relax for a little bit longer.
Simba enjoyed a delicious lamb breakfast while I was in the shower. Meanwhile, Jason was getting ready to send out a search committee because I didn’t immediately answer his twenty texts asking about how Simba was doing. I informed Jason that I didn’t answer because I was in the shower and that he did not have to worry. If something was wrong with Simba, I would let him know. And he doesn’t think he’s a helicopter parent…
We took a nice walk before I went to work. It was so hot and it wasn’t even 8 am! Simba did not seem to mind so much and enjoyed seeing friends on the boardwalk. When we returned from the walk, I gave Simba his Nexgard, which is his monthly flea and tick prevention medication (hence the Happy Nexgard Day!) I asked Jason to remind me what Nexgard was for so I could inform all my faithful followers and he promptly reminded me it was in the care guide. Why he couldn’t just tell me, I’ll never know. This medicine must taste really good because I didn’t even need to hide it in anything. I think Simba thinks it is a treat!
After work, Simba and I took another walk. This time he took his leopard toy. People commented about how cute he looked walking with his toy in his mouth. Simba didn’t seem to want to walk so long so we headed back inside – maybe the heat finally got to him.
I had some errands to run and Simba was anxiously awaiting my return. When I returned, we both had some dinner. Once again, Simba finished his dinner in half the time that it took me to eat mine.
After dinner we relaxed on the couch and watched Big Brother. No spoilers please, we are still a week behind! Jason should really watch this show. Look how much Simba enjoys Big Brother!

Simba is now alternating between taking out all his toys from his toy bin (effectively making a mess of the living room) and climbing all over me while I am trying to write this blog.
