Welcome back to Simba Sitting Shenanigans! I am excited to be back and I hope you are too! For those of you who are new around here, let me introduce myself. My name is Heather and I am Simba’s “Aunt.” Basically I have been helping raise Simba since he was a puppy. Whenever Jason goes to Disney, I stay with and take care of Simba for Jason. No, I don’t only watch Simba if Jason goes to Disney, Jason just only goes to Disney.
Jason is what some people might call a helicopter parent. He made a 25 page care guide on how to care for Simba and always wants to know every detail about how he is. (And I mean literally. every. detail.) Last September, Jason was going on vacation for the first time since adopting Simba. Everyone at work was so invested in my watching him, I jokingly said I would form a blog to keep everyone updated. People started asking for the blog so I decided to google “how to create a blog.” To my surprise, I am apparently a decent writer, and the blog became very popular! The blog was so popular, I would often get texts asking when the daily blog would be posted. When Jason was preparing to go away last February, once again requests for the blog returned. I have now promised to do the blog when I watch Simba (but only for stays longer than 4 days). If you have not already done so, go back and read take 1 and take 2. Trust me, they are worth your time!
Jason left for Disney this morning, so it was a typical day for Simba, sleeping during the working hours. After work, I came to the apartment to bring my stuff, and boy did I get a big welcome. Simba was so excited to see me! He kept running around in circles and wagging his tail. He ran up to me but then ran away because he knew he was too excited and knows better than to jump on me. I have trained him well!
Simba and I went for a walk outside and it was really hot! Simba decided to bring his ice cream toy on the walk with us. A man on the beach asked Simba if he could have some, but Simba didn’t feel like sharing with a stranger. Simba wanted to go play in the sprinklers with his toy. I told him to give me the toy so it would not get all wet and gross. Simba did not listen very well, so the toy is now all wet and gross. I was, however, very proud of him for keeping track of his toy and remembering to take it whenever he put it down.
Simba had a nice drink at the water fountain aka showers. He got nice and wet, and when decided to come back inside, he decided to put his wet paws all over my skirt. Thankfully, I was proactive and put a blanket on as a barrier. Lately, Simba has had a problem with getting burrs stuck in his fur when he goes on walks. Jason has asked me to do a body check whenever we return from a walk. Honestly, I am surprised that he isn’t making me fill out a body check form. I gave Simba a thorough body check, and I am happy to report he does not have any burrs.
After our walk, we relaxed for a little and I started writing the blog. Simba was tired so he took a little rest, but is now wide awake and barking at the door. I am going to start preparing Simba’s dinner now. Unfortunately, Simba’s vet said he was becoming a little bit overweight, so I can not give so many treats anymore, but Simba will still enjoy his delicious lamb dinner.
