Take 2: Day 8!

Welcome back to Simba Sitting Shenanigans: Take 2 Day 8!

Last night, Simba and I went for another run on the boardwalk.  He had a great time! We came back and Simba watched me take some clothes out of the dryer. He was hoping I would drop something that he could steal. Thankfully I did not drop anything because I saw Simba was ready to pounce and try to steal my socks!

Simba and I got ready for bed.  Before bed, I took off Simba’s Jiobit tracker so it could charge.  I gave Simba a calming chew and made sure he had an adequate amount of toys for him to play with in the middle of the night.  One thing I forgot to check was to make sure the toys were not squeaky toys. Lucky for me, Simba brought a squeaky toy to bed. I didn’t have the heart to take the toy away from him when he was so happy to have it.  Thankfully, Simba was tired and his squeaking quickly came to an end. Once again, I left the bedroom door open so Simba could get more toys or go to the bathroom on the grass patch.

This morning when I woke up, Simba was not on the floor. I put my hand on the blanket and felt something very fluffy.  I accidentally woke Simba up and I felt so bad! I guess I shouldn’t have felt that bad because of all the times he has woken me up, but I still felt bad.  Thankfully, Simba did not seem to mind me waking him up so much.  He came right over to me to cuddle. I was so proud of Simba for sleeping through the night.

I gave Simba his breakfast and we got ready to go for a walk.  Simba was not being so cooperative this morning. He decided to play the game where he runs every time I go to put on his harness.  Simba and I really need to sit down and have a conversation about our game preferences. I never seem to appreciate his idea of a fun game. I hope he enjoys the games I play with him.

Finally, I was able to get Simba’s harness on and we went for our walk.  We came back inside and I went to work. Jason texted me asking if I took Simba for a walk and I realized I never put Simba’s tracker back on. Yes, Jason clearly looks at the tracker to see when and how long we go on walks. I promised Jason I did not let Simba off the leash on our walk and I would put the tracker back on as soon as I got back to the apartment.

After work, I put Simba’s tracker back on so I would not forget to put it on again before our walk.  Then I prepared an early dinner for Simba because I knew I was going to be out for a little while.  After Simba ate about half his dinner we went for a quick walk.  I dropped Simba off at the apartment and then raced to the dog bakery before they closed. I am going to spend Shabbos dinner with a neighbor and I wanted to bring a treat for their dog as well.

Let me tell you about this dog bakery.  It was absolutely adorable!  They had 2 cases of different cakes and cookies that were all safe for dogs.  As soon as I walked in, I was asked about my dog and if he had any allergies.  I informed the woman that I was puppy sitting for Simba and thanks to the care guide, I was able to inform her that Simba has intolerance to chicken and vanilla flavoring.  Unfortunately, I do not know about the other dog’s allergies so I just decided to show her cute pictures instead.

She told me that the cookies were all poultry free, and showed me the cookies that also did not have any vanilla flavoring. They were all so cute and had such cute names! Finally, I decided to get the bone shaped cookies that I was able to customize with their names on them. I think they look so cute and I am so excited to give them their Shabbos treats tomorrow!

When I returned back to the apartment, Simba was so happy to see me!  He could not control his excitement and was running around in circles. I pet Simba and then encouraged him to finish the rest of his dinner. Simba decided he should dump the rest of his food all over the carpet.  Thankfully, he quickly ate the rest of the dinner, including the food on the carpet. Then, Simba decided to start playing the game where he chews the leg of the table and I try to stop him. Once again, I informed Simba that I was not a fan of this game.  I tried distracting Simba by throwing his toys to the other side of the room and by putting my foot over the part of the table he was chewing. Eventually, Simba decided to give up on his game and started playing with his toys instead.

Now we are relaxing before we go on our walk before bed.
