Take 2: Day 7!

Welcome back to Simba Sitting Shenanigans! Last night, I was determined to sleep so I could wake up and no longer be in a fight with Simba. Instead of going for a leisurely walk, I decided to take Simba for a run on the boardwalk. I figured it would tire him out faster and would keep us warmer in the freezing cold weather. Simba seemed to really enjoy running and even started grabbing his own leash to get me to run faster with him.

After our run, Simba and I watched a little tv and then got ready for bed.  I gave Simba a calming chew in hopes he would sleep through the night. I also left the bedroom door open and brought a bunch of toys for him to play with if he wakes up.  I also implemented another safeguard – I hid the additional pillows on the bed so I would not wake up to another foam disaster at 3:30 am.

Thankfully I woke up to a sleeping Simba and decided our fight can finally come to an end.  However, I still wouldn’t let him lick my face because I still think that is gross. Once again Simba wanted to stay in bed all day but once again I had to be a responsible adult and go to work.

I gave Simba breakfast and then we went for a walk on the boardwalk. Simba must have loved running on the boardwalk last night because he started to run again this morning. I hope you all know how much I love Simba that I am going on runs with him. If you know anything about me, you know I absolutely hate running. Oh the things you do for love.

Today was one of Simba’s friend’s birthday’s so I decided to bring Simba over to say hello to them. Simba has an adorable birthday hat, so I thought it would be cute to take a picture of them. Simba decided he wanted to carry the hat instead of wearing it. On the walk over, Simba decided to drop the hat and pee all over it. There went that idea.

I took Simba for another walk after work and Simba did not want to put on his leash.  Finally, I was able to get it on and we went to the boardwalk. Jason decided to FaceTime us on our walk. Simba got confused when he heard Jason’s voice. I showed Simba Jason’s picture but Simba was more interested in the water bottle he found on the street.  Once again, Simba decided it would be more fun to run, so we started running. Jason enjoyed watching us run while he was sitting down relaxing.

Tonight, I decided to try something a little bit different with Simba’s dinner. I usually put some liver treats on the top of his dinner and usually Simba eats those first and takes a while to eat the rest of the food.  Tonight, I decided to put the treats on the bottom and see what happened.  Simba decided to eat the treats from the bottom first.  Simba was distracted during dinner because he got a visit from Shifra. Shifra came over to help organize Jason’s apartment and throw away all his unnecessary junk. Jason’s exact words were “throw out anything you think I don’t need.” Of course, I responded “ok we will throw away the emergency bag,”however, this upset Jason. He really is convinced this bag is necessary. Simba enjoyed watching Shifra clean!

Simba has been scared of walking past his gate thanks to the mean washing machine repair guy.  When Shifra came over, Simba was so excited but was too scared to go to the door to greet her. I placed one of his favorite toys (a water bottle) on the floor to try and get him to go past his invisible fence. He started to walk over but then got scared.  When I moved the bottle slightly closer to him, Simba came to get it and was happily playing with his bottle. I am going to keep trying to get Simba comfortable in that area again.

Now Simba and I are relaxing and Simba is still playing with his water bottle.

Tune in tomorrow for more Simba Sitting Shenanigans: Take 2!
