Take 1: Day 11!

Welcome Back to Simba Sitting Shenanigans.  I’m sorry to report this will be the last blog post for a while.   Jason came home from vacation, and I have returned home to my house.  Thank you all who have followed my Journey with Simba.  It’s been fun!

Last night Simba and I went for a short walk, and once again he ran back into the building.  I am not sure why he did not want to go for a longer walk.

After our walk, Simba and I got ready for bed.  Simba played with his bone, while I played on my phone.  We both fell asleep quickly, and stayed asleep the whole night!  I think Simba knew Jason was coming home today, and that I would be leaving him because he was extra snuggly this morning.

Jason texted me that his plane was delayed, and he was worried his flight would be canceled.  He was so worried because he wanted to come home and see Simba.  Thankfully, they were able to fix the problem and his flight was able to take off.

Simba and I went for a nice walk on the boardwalk this morning.  Simba ate all of his breakfast.  We met a not friendly dog (who was not on a leash), and Simba was sad he couldn’t play with him.  Then Simba saw one of his friends. This more than made up for the unfriendly dog.   They had so much time playing together!

When we got back to the apartment, I packed up my stuff, and got ready to leave.  Simba helped me bring some bags to my car.  Then I said goodbye to Simba and told him I would miss him.

Jason returned home and Simba was so excited to see him!

Here are 11 things I learned while pet sitting Simba:

1.) Taking care of a dog is a LOT of work.

2.)  Even though Jason said I did not need to keep a bowel chart because he trusted I would let him know if something was wrong, he still asked me every day if Simba’s poop was normal.

3.) EVERYTHING you need to know about Simba is in the care guide.

4.) People are much friendlier to you when you are with a dog.

5.)  No matter how much you clean up, Simba will make a mess in 5 minutes.

6.) Don’t buy Simba expensive toys because he will destroy them.

7.) You do not need to put food on your head in order to get Simba to eat.

8.) Don’t leave my shoes where Simba can reach them (That’s a story for another day).

9.) As sharp as I thought Simba’s nails were, the other dogs nails are  actually much sharper.

10.) Puppy snuggles will always make you feel loved.

11.) Apparently I am a decent writer.

This is not good bye, but see you later (If Jason decides he can go away again without missing Simba too much!)
