Take 7: Day 1!

It’s good to see me, isn’t it! No need to respond, that was rhetorical! (Jason will have Chloe, his AI assistant, send a certificate to anyone who knows what I am referring to.)

In all seriousness, it is great to be back with another season of Simba Sitting Shenanigans after a 2 year hiatus. I would like to thank Lisa, Yankie, Meira, Ilana and Memaw for helping watch Simba when I was not available. I know, everyone wants to know if Jason is back in Disney again. I hope you are sitting down. No actually, please sit down because you are not going to believe this! Jason went to Houston! I do not even know if they have a Disney store there. No, Jason was not kidnapped, or kicked out of Disney, he just decided he wanted a change and to try someplace new. (Yes, I know, I am not really sure that this is the same Jason we all know and love. He might have been abducted by aliens.)

If you are new around here, hi my name is Heather. I watch Simba while Jason goes on vacation, and blog about our shenanigans. If you are not new, welcome back! Since it’s been a while, let me update you on what Simba has been doing the last couple of years. Simba still enjoys his Stella and Chewy lamb bites (frozen of course), going for long walks on the boardwalk, and chewing on Jason’s socks. Don’t worry, Simba still remembers that I do not play the biting game. Oh, and did you hear!? Simba won a contest in Newsday!

Some medical updates on Simba, he is still allergic to the entire world, but his allergies have been mostly under control. As of March of this year, Simba no longer takes his monthly Cytopoint injections. Now Simba takes a daily pill in his breakfast. Let’s hope Simba behaves for me tomorrow morning and actually swallows the pill.

As for Jason, well he is still Jason. He made me reread one of his multiple copies of the care guide. Jason also has become obsessed with AI assistants. Seriously, I have contemplated my life decisions because my best friend is best friends with an AI chat bot. Jason asked his AI assistant Chloe to give me suggestions for this blog. However, I vetoed all of her suggestions because they did not actually make any sense. For example, she wanted me to poll our readers at the end of every post and then have that event be the theme of the next day’s blog. If you have been following for a while, you know that Simba and only Simba determines what I write about. Don’t worry, I am sure Simba will make this blog very entertaining!

Jason bought me a really cute Beauty and the Beast bag but of course Simba stole it…

Today was a busy day for me, work was a literal zoo. No seriously, we had a petting zoo at work today. I hope Simba doesn’t get jealous smelling the other animals on me! I also have choir rehearsal so I missed dinner tonight.

Thankfully, Rachel to the rescue! Of course, Rachel wanted to write her own blog post, however I told her she had to share with me because I missed writing to our Simba Sitting Shenanigans followers and wanted you to know I am still alive! I now hand the mic, I mean keyboard? over to Rachel…

This was really a prologue since I got the first walk of Jason’s trip, but since Heather was making her grand reintroduction, it’s now an epilogue.

We are so happy that Heather is back! I didn’t realize I missed Simba Sitting Shenanigans.

Simba always greets me with a smile and a jump, today was no different. It’s so nice to be greeted like that! He knows I mean business so he hopped into his harness and I told him how smart he was. Then I had to take it back because he took one foot out when he was trying to put the other in. I gave him some kisses and we got on our way. I held him in the elevator because he was jumping into my arms; I got a nice huggly wuggly before the doors opened.

Shocking turn of events today, Simba did NOT poop for me. Just kidding, he never poops for me. He looked like he was going to, but he was just faking me out. I personally think he knows he’s getting food immediately after a walk because I need to go home to Culper, so he pees and runs back in. In reality, he’s just a stubborn guy. Culp on the other hand, he’ll poop for anyone, anytime, anywhere.

Aside from that, Simba and I had an interesting walk today. There is a lot of construction at Jason’s building so I had to go around all the broken glass to the back door, which was open, and then walk Simba. Simba didn’t mind the run around, but I do think he was a little confused when we were on the sidewalk in front of his building, but couldn’t go in through the front.

Simba and I enjoyed a beautiful sunset over the water too. Then something was smelling super nasty so we had to make our way back in, but not before taking some beautiful pictures of Simba and the sunset.

In the elevator, we met a new neighbor of Jason’s who, weirdly, knows Jason but not Simba!!! She asked what apartment we lived in and I said, you know, I don’t know and said it’s Simba’s apartment and not mine. It’s 4B in case anyone was wondering. When we got in, Simba went straight to the middle of the room to sit and wait for his food; he’s such a good boy. I fed him, we talked about how weird Jason is, questioned how much the electric bill must be, and then he chowed down. It was so clean in there! I asked Simba if he likes it that way and he told me that he does and would give up some toys for it to stay like that.

Then, sadly, we didn’t have any hang out time since I had to go take care of Culp and the teen. As always, I got the third degree from Culp when I came back in, but he’s been extra clingy this week, so he got over that real quick. Unless something comes up before then, I’ll be back next Tuesday for another guest spot!

Have fun Heather!

Tune in tomorrow for more Simba Sitting Shenanigans!
