Take 5! Day 8!

Welcome back to Simba Sitting Shenanigans. I can’t believe it is day 8 already. Only a few more days until Jason comes home. I know he misses Simba a lot and Simba misses him!

Last night, we went for a walk and were really happy the weather was finally warmer. We walked around for a while and then came back inside to get ready for bed. Simba has this really bad habit of positioning himself exactly where I was planning to sleep. When I go to move him, he gives me his nastiest growl as if he is saying “I’m comfortable! Don’t move me!” Thankfully, I was able to get Simba to move and we were both able to sleep comfortably.

I was worried that Simba was going to keep me up all night again because he brought the same squeaky toy to bed. Thankfully, Simba was just as tired as I was and fell asleep quickly!

This morning we had our usual morning routine. I was able to convince Simba to eat half his breakfast before my shower. Then. we went for a nice long walk on the boardwalk. The weather was beautiful and we took advantage! Simba saw another dog on the boardwalk and they played for a little while. Then a nice man said hello to Simba and Simba pretended to be macho and give his “big dog” bark. I explained to him that Simba is usually very sweet but sometimes likes to act tough. Simba also saw a bigger dog that did not seem so friendly. Simba gave his nasty bark but thankfully the other dog’s owner had him on a tight leash so he couldn’t come after Simba.

When we returned from our walk, Simba had another FaceTime date with Yosef and Eliana! Simba once again was busy focusing on his breakfast but Yosef and Eliana were so happy to see Simba. They were petting him through the phone and it was adorable!

I left Simba to an exciting day of napping so I could go to work. After work, Simba and I enjoyed a nice long walk on the boardwalk. The weather was gorgeous! Simba saw his friend Max and they had fun sniffing each other. Then a little girl asked if she could pet Simba. For some reason Simba was scared of her. He kept running away when she tried to pet him.

We walked a little more and then Simba found another dog to play with. When Simba was a puppy, he used to jump around when he saw other dogs. Now he is so much more mature. He stands there and sniffs the other dog. Then he stays still and lets the other dog sniff him. This, however, is not the case when he sees his friends Einstein and Lucy. They go crazy when they see each other!

I tried giving Simba an early dinner since I knew I would be home late. I was able to convince Simba to eat about a quarter of his dinner but then I needed to leave for my music lessons. When I returned, I put Simba’s dinner on the floor in front of him and he ate the entire thing!

We are going to do a rule today because there is no way this one will backfire on me.

Rule 8 – “When leaving the apartment, make sure the tv is on volume 15 (not more, not less) and the noise machine by the door is on. (See page 21 of care guide)”

Honestly, I put on the tv for Simba in the morning, so he is entertained when I take a shower. I leave the video playing all day and have no idea what volume it is on. I just leave it at the volume I have been watching tv at the night before. Simba will survive if the volume isn’t exactly 15. And in regards to the noise machine, I have not touched that the entire time I have been here. It’s kinda annoying, but at this point I’m just used to the apartment being really loud.

Simba is now relaxing and playing with my plastic cup.

Tune in tomorrow for more Simba Sitting Shenanigans and rule number 9!
