Welcome back to Simba Sitting Shenanigans!
Last night, Simba was really enjoying the fresh air on the balcony. We kept the door open for a while and Simba was running back and forth. There was a fire truck that drove by and Simba got very excited! He ran to the balcony to watch and bark at it! I had to remind Simba it was late and people were sleeping. I shut the door because I did not want the neighbors to complain.
We took a walk outside but Simba was tired and eager to come back inside. I could tell Simba was ready for bed, however I had to finish putting away some food I was preparing for Shabbos. I opened the bedroom door and gave Simba a toy so he could get ready for bed.
When I was ready to join Simba in bed, I was on the phone, and kept the light on for a little while. After I got off the phone I wanted to read a chapter of my book. Simba was not too happy with me because it was after midnight and he wanted to sleep! He kept barking at me, so I took that as a signal to shut the light and get to bed.
I am not sure if Simba read the blog last night or heard me talking about Jason’s ridiculous rules, but I was woken up to a big wet kiss on my lips. Needless to say, I was not very happy this morning! I immediately wiped my mouth, and told Simba I was not happy, he was never to do that ever again. Don’t worry, even though I was not happy with Simba this morning, I still let him snuggle with me.
We had our usual routine, Simba watched his relaxation video while I showered and then took a nice long walk on the boardwalk. When we returned to the apartment, I gave Simba his breakfast although he wasn’t so hungry this morning. Simba ate half of his breakfast and I headed off to work.
As many of you know, there was an earthquake this morning. Poor Simba was sleeping when it happened, however he was woken up and very confused. I was at work but Jason and I checked the cameras. Thankfully, he was about to go back to sleep and we knew he was ok.
After work, Simba enjoyed watching me cook and then we enjoyed a nice walk on the boardwalk. Simba wanted to stay out longer but I needed to run some errands. I told Simba he was going to see his friend Einstein tonight and he got so excited! He started running to the door to greet him! When I returned, Simba was happy to see me! He thought the food smelled good and tried to steal some brisket that I was cutting up! I told him that his dad would kill me if he ate it.
Of course, I had to give Simba a special treat for Shabbos, so I gave him another toy from the basket I won. He is really enjoying playing with his new toy!
Time for rule number 4!
“Simba absolutely loves socks. Every night when you take off your socks, please give them to Simba to sleep with that night. It’s what I do.”
Jason, just because you do something doesn’t make it normal or something other people should do. Actually, Simba hasn’t even tried to take the socks off my feet the entire time I have been here. Wanna know why? In the past when he attempted to take my socks, I redirected him. He knows it’s not appropriate behavior but he does it with you because you let him get away with anything he wants to do. Another reason I am not giving him my socks is I really would prefer not to have holes in them. I’ve seen what happens to your clothes after Simba gets a hold of them.
Simba and I want to wish everyone a good Shabbos! Tune in tomorrow for Simba Sitting Shenanigans: Shabbos Edition and ridiculous rule number 5!
