Welcome back to Simba Sitting Shenanigans. Simba and I hope you had a great day and enjoyed that it wasn’t raining for once!
Last night Simba once again did not want to eat his dinner. I tried convincing him but of course I was unsuccessful. We went for a quick walk because it was cold and raining, and then headed to bed.
Simba slept for most of the night, however he did wake me up a few times. One time he dropped his toy and thought if he barked at it, it would magically come back to him. His thought process was flawed, but when I turned the light on, he jumped off the bed to get it. Another time we were woken up by a butt dial on my work phone. Neither of us were too happy about that one!
This morning, Simba decided there was something under the bed that he needed to bark at. I could not find it for the life of me! I even turned on my flashlight. Simba did not stop barking so I walked him into the living room, turned on his relaxation video and then I closed the bedroom door and went back to bed for a few minutes.
Then, I let Simba come back into bed for some morning cuddles before my shower. We were able to go for a little bit of a longer walk this morning because we were not running late and the weather was much better! It was only drizzling a little, so we ventured out to the boardwalk. The boardwalk was covered in sand from the storm!
After our walk, Simba had a real treat. He had a FaceTime breakfast date with his cousins Yosef and Eliana! Ok, fine. Yosef and Eliana really were the ones who had a big treat FaceTiming with Baba. Simba didn’t even realize they were on the phone. Simba originally did not want to eat his breakfast, even with the dramatic show I was putting on for him to try and get him to eat. I added one piece of his old breakfast and he ate the entire thing!

I left Simba to go to work and once again returned at lunchtime to pick up my lunch. Simba was very happy to see me, although he did look a little sleepy because I woke him up from his nap!

After work, I took Simba for a nice long walk on the boardwalk. We wanted to take advantage of the warmer weather and the fact that it wasn’t raining. This time, Jason FaceTimed us on our walk. Once again, Simba was oblivious to the call. He was focused on trying to sniff every piece of garbage on the ground.
I wanted to walk to my car to get something, however Simba had other plans. He started pulling and running back to the building. Then, I tried checking on something on the second floor but once again Simba did not want to. We went back to the apartment and we saw our friend Rena on the way. Simba was happy to see her! Then I dropped off Simba so I could go get what I needed from my car.
I came back inside and prepared Simba’s dinner. He did not want to eat it… Shocker! I even put a liver treat in. Simba ate the liver treat and left the rest. I started preparing food for Shabbos and made my own dinner. Simba enjoyed watching me from his spot on the couch.
I finished eating and Simba still did not want to eat his dinner. I tried moving the bowl closer to him but that did not work. Then I realized he had a cheese chew. I took the chew away and TADA! Simba ate his entire dinner! I do not know why I did not think of that before!
Ok, time for the rule of the day. I hope you aren’t eating, because this one is gross!
“Simba needs his daily ‘make-out’ sessions. He loves kissing and licking faces. Allow him to lick your mouth for a minimum of 10 minutes a day (bonus points if you let him lick your tongue).”
Nope, nope, nope and nope.
I absolutely refuse to do this one. I think it is disgusting. I have seen all the things that Simba licks and eats and I do not want that anywhere near my face. Thank you very much! I have worked very hard training Simba these past few times, and he has finally come to accept the fact that he will never lick my face. Ever.
Simba is now enjoying some fresh air on the balcony and occasionally coming inside to play with his toys. Tune in tomorrow for more Simba Sitting Shenanigans and Rule #4!
