Welcome back to Simba Sitting Shenanigans! Happy Nexgard Day! For those of you who are new around here, Nexgard day is the day that Simba takes his Nexgard treatment for flea and tick prevention. Last night, Simba and I were really tired so we went straight to bed after our walk.
This morning, I was woken up by an unpleasant surprise. Simba was licking my face! I love Simba but he knows I do not do face licking. I reminded Simba that it was not nice and I was not very happy with him. Jason, when you return I am sure Simba will be very excited to lick your face since I deprived him of this gross activity of his.
After having my face licked, I decided to put my face under the covers so I could sleep for a few more minutes without any more sneak attacks. I was able to go back to sleep for a little while longer and then it was time to get ready for the day.
I gave Simba his breakfast and then he relaxed while I took my shower. When I was all ready for our walk, Simba was hanging out on the bed and did not seem in the mood to move. I sent Jason a photo to show him how cute Simba was on the bed. Big mistake. Once again he started asking if Simba was okay or if he was lethargic. I informed him that he is fine and was just waiting patiently.

Before we headed out for our walk, I gave Simba his Nexgard. Simba loves it and thinks it is a treat. I told Simba I had a treat for him and had him sit and give me his paw. Then I gave Simba his Nexgard and he was so happy! I told Jason about this encounter and he agreed that Simba loves Nexgard. A short while later, Jason asked if he could check that Simba took his Nexgard off on his reminder app. I reminded Jason that I already gave it to Simba and there was nothing to worry about.
Our morning walk was pretty uneventful but we both enjoyed it. I brought Simba back home and headed to work.
After I returned from work, I took Simba out for a walk. Simba enjoyed some fresh air and would have walked for longer, but I saw another off leash dog and did not want to upset Simba when he couldn’t play. I took Simba off his leash when we got into the elevator. When we got to our floor, the mailman was delivering mail. I am not sure what it is with dogs and delivery people but Simba kept following him and trying to sniff him. It was a little difficult to get Simba’s attention to go back into the apartment but when I opened the door, he ran back inside.
Once inside, we relaxed on the couch. I was on the phone for a while and Simba was very quiet and well behaved. He even fell asleep on my lap. It was adorable. Eventually, it was time for Simba to have dinner. Usually, I like to eat when Simba eats because he does not try and take my food. However, I had a late lunch and a really delicious homemade donut a few hours earlier and was not hungry. I prepared Simba’s dinner and he was really happy.
Finally, I decided it was time to cook and Simba was very well behaved while I was in the kitchen. When it was time to eat, he wanted some of my food but was able to be redirected. Once again, Simba sat at my feet while I ate my dinner.
After dinner, I began writing the blog and put on a movie. I didn’t realize there was a dog in the movie and Simba went crazy! He would not stop barking. I tried shutting off the movie, putting on his relaxation music, giving him a bone, and discussing his behavior with him. Nothing seemed to work! I opened the balcony door and Simba was finally able to calm down.
Simba is currently running back and forth between the balcony and the living room while I sit here freezing.
Jason told me I should give him a new toy to quiet him down but I will not reward negative behavior. Lisa agreed with me. Jason did not.
Tune in tomorrow for more Simba Sitting Shenanigans!
