Take 6: Day 8!

Welcome back to Simba Sitting Shenanigans! I can’t believe it is day 8 already! Jason will be coming home tomorrow night, and this season of Simba Sitting Shenanigans will be coming to an end.

Last night, Simba and I were relaxing in bed while I was on the phone. Jake and I were reading Harry Potter on the phone (yes, I know we are adorable) so I had my book out on the bed. I forgot my bookmark at home, so I have been using a tissue. I made the mistake of leaving the tissue next to the book and Simba took that as an invitation to play with (AKA destroy) it.

After I got off the phone, I needed to take Simba for a walk. Simba however decided to be nuttsy cuckoo and did not want to put his leash on. Oh boy did he have the zoomies! I thought he would grow out of it when he was no longer a puppy, but apparently it still happens. I got tired of waiting for him to calm down, so I sat on the floor and told him I was going to wait until he was ready. After a little while of begging, pleading and waiting, I was finally able to put his leash on and go for the walk.

For some reason, there was a dryer in the middle of the hallway last night. Simba was very confused as to why it was there and started to sniff it. We went for a very short walk, and then headed straight to bed.

This morning, Simba woke up bright and early at 5:45 AM! I had to remind him that we did not need to get up yet and tried to convince him to go back to sleep. It worked for a short while, but then I had to get out of bed to turn on his dog relaxation video and give him breakfast. I got back into bed and Simba decided to join me. When it was actually time to get up, Simba did not want to let me go! He wanted to stay in bed all day and cuddle!

Simba watched TV while I took my shower and then we went for our walk. It is starting to get cooler outside and Simba really enjoyed the weather! We saw Simba’s friend Emmi on the way to the boardwalk. He was so excited to see her because they have not seen each other in a while. We enjoyed a nice walk and then headed inside.

Simba had a surprise in the middle of the day. I forgot my lunch at the apartment and came back to get it. Of course I had to say hello to Simba while I was here. Simba quickly returned to his nap when I left.

After work, Simba and I tried to FaceTime Jason’s niece and nephew. They were not available, so we left them a video message. While making the video, Simba tried to lick me. I had to sternly remind him that I do not allow that! He can lick Jason all he wants tomorrow night!

Then we FaceTimed Jason, however, he did not talk because he was worried Simba would be upset if he heard his voice. I assured Jason that he was ok, but he did not want to risk it.

We went for another walk and Simba saw his girlfriend Lucy. Oh boy were they happy to see each other! They kept jumping on each other and their tails were wagging so much!

We came back inside and I gave Simba dinner. While Simba was finishing his dinner we got a FaceTime call from Aunt Jamie. Yosef and Eliana were now available to FaceTime. They were so happy to see Simba and Simba was happily playing with his toys while they called his name.

When we hung up the phone, I had to go out once again for choir rehearsal. Simba said goodbye and was happy to once again he napping. When I came back to the apartment, Simba was so happy to see me. Simba wanted to share my dinner, but I gently reminded him that he already ate. He happily took my paper towel and destroyed it.

Sorry this blog is so late, everytime I go to type with two hands Simba steals one of them and makes me pet him.

Tune in tomorrow for the final episode of Simba Sitting Shenanigans: Take 6!

Zoomies never stop – I’ve got an old man over here and it’s still a daily occurrence.
